Inspiration and The New Year...
One of the things I am reeaaaaaallllly looking forward to is the new year. New beginnings. Well, the other day I thought it would be neat to make a list of things I wanted to do before the year is over and I'm surprised at by how many I have already done. Quite exciting! This makes the last bit of 2008 oh so better. So here with you I share my list and what I have accomplished.

Robots!
Lately I have acquired a fascination for fun things one used to love as a child. One of these things is robots. I decided to give my first attempt at making a plush a while back and the obvious choice was to create a robot. So far I love the way its coming out, but this poor little fellow has taken way too long to finish. So I've been trying to hurry and finish him so that by the time a special little someones birthday rolls around I can send it off to her. Here's what he looks like now, and I'll post a picture of the completed product.

Black & White Photography
I found myself with not a whole lot to do today so I brushed up on my photoshop skills and came up with this.
I have this amazing hat I just acquired and wanted to make it look very old Hollywood, and I think I did just that. I'm seriously considering investing in a good camera so that I may dive into photography a bit. On somewhat of a side note.
This one is taken by a friend of mine who has done a bad job at keeping in touch, but none the less I've always enjoyed his photography (I never told him shhh) and this one is my favorite of his. I don't know if its the picture itself or my love of lotus flowers. So pretty! Here's his link to his self published book... http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/470495

Craft Fair!!!
Deep in the middle of nowhere Texas, lies a little town by the name of Wimberly, Texas. My mom, and I accompanied by some lady friends headed up there this Sunday for what they call the Craft Market. How could I resist? What we found was a cute gem of a little ( and I mean little) town. Described as "Primitive Country," the whole town has an old western-rustic kind of Texan feel that can only be found in the lone star state. We found antiques, crafts, cute shops, and an overall good time. Here are some pics!
This was one of my favorite of the many hand painted wooden signs we saw out there.
I am a cupcake lover!
This was a really neat sculpture garden that was filled with all kinds of animals. This dinosaur was my favorite.
This picture was taken on the way home. I did like the blurry effect of the outside and the clear center. I love that you could see how the area stretches for miles and miles. One of the great qualities of Texas. I am a California native, but this is what I like about Texas.
and this was a little Christmas cheer that I threw together inspired from the whole trip. I hope you enjoy!

Welcome!!
Hello! Let me start by introducing myself...my name is Mayra, but some call me Ally (short for my middle name). This is a project that I am very excited to start. It is indeed another blog of inspiration and a concoction of all sorts, but it's mine and that's what makes it the best thing ever. I am creating this to explore another medium of introducing my art and the world that revolves it. I dabble here and there in many different kinds of arts, but anyone who knows me knows that my passion lies in animation.
After a few years of experimenting, I decided to finally place my focus on children related themes. It's so much fun, and who doesn't love being a kid? I am still a student and I'm ready to head into my final semester of community college. I would love to continue pursing my education, but after this I will be taking a break so that I can devote myself to creating anything and everything. Now I don't pride myself on being a writer, but I do love to tell a good story. So here we go and welcome to my story...
